We are just about to head off to dinner. The kids were amazing today.
Below are the snowboarders we were with and some of the reasons that we are so thrilled with the day. Alvaro-for his persistence on the snowboard. He did not give up and was amazing. Travis-for sticking with it, listening and becoming independent Pixie-rocked the snowboard. She was floating like a leaf down the mountain. Jye-was off and running in no time, he smiled all the way, even when he landed on his bum Jan-eager to learn all the tricks of the trade, could not wait to get better and better Uchyu-wanted to know the skills, and took off up-skilling all day long Guillaume-put his knowledge into practice, he too was up-skilling all day long Gaspard-took to it like a duck to water, he was off and running from the start Antoine-determined to succeed, no fear and plenty of determination Timothee-did not give up, he got up and going and loved the independence We started together and then split into two groups. I (Mrs. Kitani) tried snowboarding for the first time and it was really hard! These kids did an incredible job and really took off! The sense of achievement they felt was visible in their smiles, their faces and their 'we don't want to stop' comments. I managed to see all of the kids skiing as well. Those kids who had never skied before were amazing. Many of the kids skied without poles but with plenty of confidence. The kids who could already ski pushed themselves to go higher and harder. They were flying! I am so proud of our kids, their behaviour, their friendliness and willingness to help each other and their all-round good sportsmanship. We have achieved more than I had hoped for and I will need to do a really good headcount on the way home because some of the kids, actually all, are trying to stay longer! Once again, thanks for all of your support and see you all tomorrow evening. Nighty Night. Today was awesome because I went skiing and the best part was making a camp fire "it was very cool"
Today I learned how to ski. At first it was kind of hard but I managed to do it. Later, I went down big hills without poles and it was really fun. When I tried to ski with my skis straight, I fell over.
Today I did skiing! First we went to easy place then we went more steep place. Then we went to the very top part.(It wasn't steep.) Then we went many more places then...... finally we went to very steep place!!!!!(I was too scared that I went too fast....) But I had a lot fun today! Tomorrow is the last day so I have to have fun more than today!!!!!!!
This first time in the snow was so fun and I like so much the snowbording.
This is my first time in the snow duing ski or snowbording. It was so funy¡¡¡ Today, I started started snowboarding, and it was awesome!! The lift was so much fun. On the snowboard, we practiced going backwards (toe edge) and forwards (heel edge). I went down the hill many times, and on the second last time, I only fell once! I went really fast, and went from side to side. We had a campfire, and went sledding. It was very fun, and I wish this trip would not end!
What a fantastic day of skiing and snowboarding. The weather was perfect with lots of sun all day. The children were great once more and many fun and challenging times were had from the beginners all the way to the more advanced skiers. It was fantastic to see the students work through their own particular challenges and come with big smiles, and lots more self-confidence.
I am so proud of the skiing group I worked with during the day: Haruka: Wonderful to see her overcoming her initial fears to become so much more confident in her skiing. Kako: Worked through her initial doubts to successfully ski down different hills. Fernando: Just got better and better as time went on and his confidence increased. Clarys: Quickest down the hill each time once had her confidence. Just point the skis down the hill and go! Yuki: Learnt so much and was very eager to learn more. What a great listener. Yoonji: Her confidence increased greatly as time went on and her skills got better and better. Luna: Very determined following some early doubts to have a successful day Having had another big meal we headed off for some campfire fun before a bit of sledding to end the day. Now they are all working out the aches in the onsen, before heading off to bed and a final couple of hours skiing tomorrow. What a great day!! I like today because I learn how to do snow-board and I very like do this during 4 hours !
